Kvismare fågelstation, Sweden - Day 27

The weather has been a bit on and off today, so not much ringing has taken place except for 2 recap Marsh Tits in the garden. It's nice to recapture some of these juveniles to observe their progression in post-juvenile moult. It was evident in this bird that some adult-type inner greater coverts were growing and showing a really nice contrast in the wing, as well as the two toned matte and gloss cap.

Vis-mig has been the main part of today with the below sightings all observed from the end of our drive:
Common Crane 254+
Honey Buzzard 7 (singles)
Green Sandpiper 7
Wood Sandpiper 5
Dunlin 2
Ruff 1
Snipe 10
Black headed Gull 112 (47, 43, 2, 2, 18)
Common Gull 54 (16, 2, 4, 32)
Herring Gull 6 (singles)
Common Buzzard 4
Golden Plover 12 (8, 4)
Grey Plover 5 (4, 1)

If the weather improves somewhat, we hope to go out catching waders tonight as there is a large congregation of Spotted Redshank that would certainly be valuable to catch.
