Kvismare fågelstation, Sweden - Day 23

Stunning juvenile male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (Mindre Hackspett)
The usual view of a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (remove the hands...)
Eye-colour of a 2cy Great Reed Warbler (Trastsångare)

CES down at Vallen today produced 51 new birds and 8 recaps including the two stars of the being being a juvenile male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, aged on the very very fresh plumage and no obvious 2nd or 3rd generation in the feathers.
The other highlight was an unringed Great Reed Warbler aged as a 2cy female, aged on the browny eyes with no real hint of red, the hint of remaining tongue spots and the off 'flesh' coloured legs. This bird was subsequently colour-ringed.

Totals for the day were: (recaps in brackets)

Reed Warb 15 (2)
Sedge Warb 3 (2)
Willow Warb 20 (3)
Garden Warb 6 (1)
Great Reed 1 (0)
Blue Tit 1 (0)
Chaffinch 2 (0)
