Great Crested Grebe fly-past. Not an everyday sight.
Very tatty White-letter Hairstreak on a new patch of Thistles at the NW end of the fishing pond. The main bramble patch has now run out of flowers and the other patch in Boilton with the thistles appears to have been damaged with lots of flattened thistles, so no butterflies here.
Lots of Common Blue in from of the 2nd passing place as I waited most of the morning with the hope of a passing Clouded Yellow.
One of the prettiest and well marked female Meadow Browns I've ever seen
Only just started seeing Small Coppers and there were 4 in front of the 2nd passing place today. They certainly don't seem to be common this year.
