Has it really been almost 2 months since my last post?!
After dropping my dad off at the train station early on in the morning, I thought I would make a quick trip to Preston Docks to try and photograph the Common Tern colony. I counted at least 15 birds, including 5 chicks which was excellent, because the adults had just started feeding the chicks when I arrived, so were actively flying around hunting.
This colony only really arrived last year with a couple of pairs nesting on the floating jettys, and this has now increased with a little help from the Fylde Bird Club, due to their car tyres that are set out for the Terns to breed on.
My last exam is on Friday, so I hope to get out next week at the latest, with a planned trip to Haweswater. Watch this space...
